How To Succeed At Halloween?

Every year, I struggle not to eat my weight in candy. I buy lots of candy for the seemingly endless line of kids at our front door. I end up with a lot of extra, and I don’t want my kids to eat it since they already have a ton.

Every year, I struggle not to eat my weight in candy. I buy lots of candy for the seemingly endless line of kids at our front door. I end up with a lot of extra, and I don’t want my kids to eat it since they already have a ton.

This year, I have devised some ways to make it easier to say “No” to the extra calories.

1. Don’t buy so much—it’s OK if you run out and don’t supply the entire area with Halloween treats—or just skip Halloween altogether. I started doing this a few years ago.

2. Don’t buy candy. There is no hard and fast rule about supplying candy on Halloween. You can give out healthier snacks or choose not to participate.

Your goal of losing weight is much more important than providing candy to kids. If you want to give on Halloween, give to shelter for families or the food bank. It’s a much better use of your resources.

3. Have a big meal with lots of veggies and protein. You can also drink a lot of water so you feel fuller. This will help you fight off the cravings if you are already satisfied.
